Hot air builds up and cold air creates moisture in your ceiling.

Summer: Temperatures can reach as high as 60oC during the summer months in your attic/roof spaces. This heat radiates downwards into your living areas and causes much discomfort. Even the effectiveness of ceiling insulation can be reduced by the additional heat load, and if you have air conditioning, it is forced to work even harder.

Winter: Water vapour from your bathroom and cold outside conditions accumulates in your ceiling and roof spaces. This will cause condensation which can form up to 12 litres of moisture per day. This limits the effectiveness of insulation, causes mildew on walls, in cupboards and on ceilings and contributes to a damp environment.

These problems can be reduced with adequate ventilation systems.
