Regulations
All water tanks should be installed by a licensed plumber. As regulations in areas vary, check with your local council if any permits are required for your tank to be installed.
Placement
The placement of the tank will depend on downpipe locations, the available water collection area of the roof and space to sit the tank. 1mm of rain over 1 square meter will equate to 1 litre of water.
Pumps
Most rain water tank systems will require a pump to generate adequate pressure. Automatically switched pumps are also available for rain water supply to your laundry and toilet. These pumps allow operation between mains and tank use.
First Flush Diverter
First flush can assist in preventing roof debris from entering your tank. These systems divert a small initial quantity of water from entering the tank.
