Here’s a quick conversation with Mick about sustainable technology and practices.

1. Tell us a little about your background. Why did you get involved with EnviroGroup?
I’ve always believed that technology that works in harmony with the environment made sense. So I worked with community organizations like the Alternative Technology Association to achieve that. I started the current business to provide solutions for a big range of environmental needs.

2. How has your work with EnviroGroup influenced your own home retrofit?
Well, it’s lots of fun. I get to try out lots of interesting ideas and products. There is always something new.

3. If you could give households one piece of advice, what would it be?
The little things add up. Draughts, energy wasting appliances, shading, etc. You have to keep chipping away at them. The little things add up to a big change.

4. What’s next for EnviroGroup?
Going off grid could be huge. We are all getting sick of those power companies.

EnviroShop are proud sponsors of Sustainable House Day, an annual event of the Alternative Technology Association that features and celebrates houses that have been designed, built, or renovated with sustainability in mind.

Given the repeal of the carbon tax, many householders are left wondering what they can do to make a difference.
